I don't know if you mean motorized blinds. We have lots of motorized cellular shades. They are reliable and work really well. Many years ago (about 20 yrs ago) we got motorized Hunter Douglas cellular shades and they were troublesome and very expensive. We had a motor fail within warranty and it repaired. But it failed again out of warranty so we had to replace the whole group. This time we went with on-line motorized blinds. I don't remember whether it was blinds.com or another on-line blind retailer but we have 3 batches from various on-line sources and they have all been fantastic. Don't know if it is because they are a new generation of technology. I find it is most cost effective to get really large shades that cover multiple windows. Some on-line places offer larger ones than others so it pays to shop around.

I've never had motorized drapery, only motorized Duette shades from Hunter Douglas and they are mostly trouble free. When I was looking to order them for the whole house, I got a quote from the local Budget Blind franchise and another HD dealer. Budget Blinds was a lot more expensive for the same product (25% more), so make sure you get another quote or two.

I think it would just be one more thing to go wrong but we have no context as to why you need these so maybe a bit more info please . Poated here incomment DO NOT start another post . I use grommet drapes a lot so easy to lpen and close no need for motorized . I looked into an addon for a client in a wheelchair but it seemed a bit goofy to me and apt to fall off . That is the only experience I have with the drpery . I have often used motorized blinds though with good results
