I have never heard of that or seen it advertised.

I have Hunter Douglass Duette shades with the PowerRise option and have them automated with the Hub/App. I also have them with the botom-up/top-down option. The shades on the windows right behind our kitchen sink have been splashed a few times and I was really worried that they would stain, but even tomato sauce droplets have wiped off with a damp paper towel. No stains left behind. It is only 2 of us in the house and we aren't that messy, so it could be different in a busy household were you might not notice a stain right away. I always take a quick look after my DH has washed up a messy meal!

It’s not so much about the stains as much as the dust that collects in a honeycomb design over the months

If they are opened/closed regularly and dusted once in a while (use a telescoping handle swiffer duster), there shouldn't be much dust accumulating. Have never found that to be an issue.

The dust levels might depend on where you live. We are on 5 acres and get a lot of dust. I just got on Houzz to look for a similar product.
