Any single fixture will cast shadows. The only way to eliminate shadows is to have multiple fixtures, which probably doesn't make sense in the entryway or dining room. And you already have multiple fixtures in the living room, so...not sure what can be done. And aren't these different rooms, not one?

Lighting is big issue in any design . The light in the hall will always cast shadows there is no way to avoid that without getting new lighting . All lighting needs to be layered to fill those shadows. I am a bit confused as to the style since you seem to not have a real choice of style. Your front door says Victorian your furniture says modern and the lights I see are very traditional. So maybe tell us what you want to go with style wise. If modern is the choice get rid of the fan with light to start . All those pot lights in thta sloped ceing are pretty useless Start by addinfg lighting on end tables on the soaf in thta large space where there is no TV some great art on that huge wall in sloped ceoings I often do some cable lighting to get light where it does some good . I must be blind I see no fixtures in either of the living spaces other than pot lights . You need floor lamps, table lamps and chandeliers hug at the proper height bit I need to know what style you want.This is cable lighting I use Tech the real good part is the fact you can get light at the more human height and into spaces where lamps can be hard to add . Tech has many different heads I have even used the cable to get drop fixtures over end tables.

Half the shadows I see are from the windows.

You do need to clarify your style_ the window treatment with the heavy cornice are out of sync with all your furnishings, as is all the lighting.

There will always be shadow in a room. You really DO NOT want it washed out to one level white out as an operating room.

You need eye level lighting, and yes, there will be pools of brightness......and other spaces will be dimmer and more in shadow. : ) As it should be.

Your contemporary house needs contemporary lighting to replace the dark edged Tuscan-style lighting. Look at a simple white globe fixture for the entry way and a Sputnik chandelier for the table. If you want to get a new ceiling fan and light combination, your best bet is to go to a lighting store to see what really appeals to you.

Hello - the space is one open concept that could be referenced as different rooms. We are going for a natural, comfortable space. I’m the not at all a designer… so I call this new look desert rustic modern. The curtains are dated but staying due to budgetary concerns. It’s the 3 circled lights that I am wanting to replace and looking for suggestions. I like the idea of adding some lamps as well. Thanks!
