Need help with ideas laying out a living area and dining area in an open L shaped area.

Give us a detailed floor plan and photographs of any furniture that you hope to use.

at first glance... I'd put a large area rug centered on the front windows and create a comfortable seating arrangement there.

another separate area at that landscape art spot (the TV mounted on the window wall)

put the dining table next to the kitchen, centered on the sliding doors.

A round dining room table might work well near the sliders. Then if you want a TV in the space, you might consider placing the TV on the wall to the right of the line of windows, or where the big painting is. Then you can keep the area by the door for entryway things. Here are some designs of ours that might help you more with your dilemma.
