Hi Chris I am no pro so can’t really help with specific colors, etc. I’m with your wife, though I’m not sure that blue coordinates. I think your bathroom can have a bit of color and still be neutral enough for you. Something like watery pale greens or blues look nice in a bathroom. I’ll leave it to the experts for actual help 😊.

Where are you putting the tile? On the back wall from counter to ceiling. Just a band around the 3 sides of the counter? What is the color on the Wall? Overall it is pretty neutral so it would be nice to add some color.

Sorry Susan, I should have included that. The walls are a light grey, and we were thinking of going around the three walls roughly 12” tall, so it would line up directly below the mirror

A powder room can benefit from a bit of personality; perhaps you could meet half way - use shape/pattern for the interest, or a touch softer blue, or more interesting neutral.

I agree. Wallpaper would look nice in this small space.

I’m with you on that one…..this blue is too…..something. Perhaps a very soft blue would work, as some have suggested above, but I’d stick with something more neutral; this gives you more possibilities to add some fun, if you choose, be it with wallpaper, art or the like.

It looks like your flooring wouldn't work well with a blue tile backsplash. You might consider a tile that works well with your flooring. Perhaps look at the second image below. Note the flooring and the tiles used on the wall.

Not an expert by any means, just offering personal opinion/preference….. I would go with a neutral or try to match the counter as much as possible. Can add colour with towels/accessories (something easier to change out when you like. Also, if not going to ceiling, then I would only do 2 or 3 rows. Going up to under the mirror may look strange since it’s not square bottom. (I like the oval, and the look of your bathroom)
