Honestly? You have very young children in the house who play in this room. Before you know it they will be older and the sofas will be a bit worn. Thats when you should buy new sofas--not now. If you must---buy two matched pillows and put one on each sofa and plus one brown pillow on each sofa too.

I’m betting you can make them work especially in light of the fact that you have young children. As others have said, you can use pillows to unify them. Or throws in similar colors or patterns. I’m no pro but perhaps you can pull them away from the wall a bit? That doorway looks a little tight. My first dozen years of having little children was great - we couldn’t afford furniture so they had free reign. Make it safe, comfortable and enjoy the kiddos!

Where does anyone sit when there are that many throw pillows on the sofa?

I suggest you start by bringing both sofas forward so that the front legs sit on the carpet, they now seem so be just on the edge of the carpet. Then accessorize... not necessary to be anything expensive with young children, just simply coordinate the pillows with the area rug (you seem to have some dark blue in your rug so that's what I show below). We don't see the entire room so I've added a few items.
