It is uncluttered, looks spacious, and inviting. You are doing well so far. Add:

- Wall hung, plug-in sconces on each side of the bed.

- Hang some small artwork on the wall.

- Get a rug slightly larger than the bed.

- Window blind with a bit of trim or contrast.

Terrible drawing, don't mind the colors, just check out the shapes these additions create and how they add just a little more fullness to the room.

I like Kendrah's suggestions. I think the whole room would be improved if you got some nice white sheets instead of the gray. They are what does not look inviting to me at all. A colorful throw or blanket folded at the end of the bed would add some color, too.

One person's 'uncluttered, spacious' is another persons stark, impersonal, cold. You need the warmth of color and personal touches so the room envelopes guests in a sense of safety and security. Since your headboard is pretty basic why not put full curtain panels behind the bed to add softness, color and movement to your space.

It looks nice. Maybe replace the fake plants with some table lamps, and add a soft rug?

ok i switched to white sheets and bought 2 rugs to try to start but im not sure if either of them work. The second one i thought was 6x9 but its a square...help again

I like the white sheets much better! But the rugs you've chosen both look dull and boring and kind of depressing to me. Are you averse to something more colorful? Even just a bit more colorful? Since you obviously like purple/lilac, I searched for rugs with that color.

i do have an aversion to colors and pattern- i try to keep minimalist without ti being too cold but i know that i hard with minimalism- the quilt is actually grey- i see ir does come across as lilac but no way- lol and the quilt on the end of bed is only there bc it was made for me by a family member. im still searching for lamps and curtain will be last if i still need them. the room is tony and i hate making things harder to clean with added stuff. ni really appreciate everyones inout thus far:)

You’re getting good advice. My two cents is to get rid of any small decorative pillows. They are annoying for guests (what do I do with these? Where do I put them?), and serve no purpose in making the room cozy or welcoming. Just have 4 real good quality sleeping pillows.

I hope someone can give you some good ideas. There is just nothing that I can think of or see that will warm up or cozy up a room that is mostly cool grays with no warmth at all. If you want warm and cozy, you may need to broaden your comfort zone with color and pattern/texture. Celery gave it a good try with her mock up.

To me, the whole bedding arrangement lacks warmth and coziness. Maybe you’re located somewhere where you don’t need warm bedding, but nothing spells “cozy” like a big fluffy duvet, and I think if you’re averse to colour, then all white (pillow cases and duvet cover) could look great. And along the lines of “what am I supposed to do with this”, I would skip the throw/quilt on the foot of the bed.
