I love woven shades--they add a nice neutral organic look to a home. But I also like your fabric panels. Perhaps as a first step you could replace the blinds with woven shades? Then you have the option of removing the panels if the pup is attracted to them. The windows would look fine with just woven shades. I have them in almost all my rooms, some with curtains and some without. And there are SO many options--from bamboo to wood to grasses, etc. Many different colors, from light to dark, and different levels of opacity. I dislike woven shades they block my view during the day. I use solar shades to control heat and UV and often do an inside mount for those and either drapes or roman shades outside mount for night time privacy . BTW you have many tings that new puppy willove in that space mine destroyed so many pillows before he got out of that stage but he never touched my drapes ??????

I love your drapery panels and the blinds you have look good with them, so I wouldn't change a thing unless you're tired of them or the puppy really does start going after them. If he does, just put them away until he gets out of that stage if you still like them. Woven shades are a more casual look, so is that what you're looking for? Roman shades are pretty too, but I love the way you can turn the vanes of slatted blinds to control the light. Would you miss that if you got a different window treatment?

Yes they are very versatile even if some folks don’t care for them.

I wouldn't make permanent changes due to a puppy. I adopted 3 adult dogs and immediately set expectations for what things they needed to leave alone. Only one dog was attracted to the fringe of the hand-knotted wool oriental rugs I had around the house, but it only took 3 or 4 corrections during her first few days in the house and she has never touched a fringe again in 5 years. None of the dogs touched my drapes.

If you have a really curious and/or destructive puppy, keep it leashed to you when it is loose in the house. Crate when you can't keep an eye on the puppy. Help set them up for positive results.

One panel has already been brought down due to a destructive curious dog. I’m thinking adding it back but also think it might be nice to change up the look a bit and perhaps protect the other panels for the time being. I had to remove the bench and pillows also till he stops his craziness.

Thinking cornice boards made with the existing panels and woven shades might be an option!

My dog has yet again taken down one pole and draperies on one side (a year later same issue). Yes, he is a lot! Now seriously needing a new window treatment plan in my kitchen. My thoughts are these but looking for opinions. Or would plantations shutters look better?

I'm partial to natural woven shades. They add a lot of texture and an organic feel to a room. They are also neutral enough to work with lots of styles.

Thanks Diana! I am liking the third picture you suggested as it is more solid (I do not like the grainy see through look). I’ll try to match the shade to the pictures on my wall. I’ll look at horizons for pricing and will try to keep the panels for now. Like you said the shades will look good with or without It is definitely not the right situation with my dog in my home but he did come after they were installed :(
