Yes, depending on how much room you have to work with, you could separate them a little more.

I do have space (they will be centered above a bed - lengthwise). I can take a photo if you think that would be helpful. By "more" do you mean 2-3 inches or more? And should I only separate them more horizontally, or vertically as well? And finally, should they be centered on the wall (between ceiling and mattress)? Sorry for all the questions... center the whole collection on the bed, 8-10" above the headboard is all you need.

Like the Barbie centered at eye level, not too high on the wall.

It's a twin bed; but it is not over the headboard it will centered on the white wall (see photo). I was going to install the lighting heart (which is about 2 feet high) above the headboard. Does that make sense?

Like your original configuration and spacing spread, but it depends on how large they are as a grouping so won’t get lost with the bed’s length. Cut out kraft paper to size and tape to wall to see how they feel.

I'm not sure if picture ledgers crossed my mind at some point, but I didn't realize it lets her pick and choose what she likes (she would certainly enjoy that aspect of choosing HERSELF what goes where!). Given the Barbie frame is high, would 2 ledgers still look okay? I guess the lower one wouldn't need to be very high as she would not likely hit it if they are narrow (not sure this is the right word, depth maybe?)?

Maureen - before we updated her room her bed was centered (headboard on white wall) in the room (photo when it was almost done). But her room is not very big so it does eat up quite a bit of space to play, which is why we ended up with this configuration. She had a desk on the other side (which would probably be very tight with the bed?
