Spring Pruning 2024

Have you pruned your rose bushes yet? Do you prune when nighttime lows are projected around 28 & 29? 33 & 35? My bushes are leafing out, but tonight lows will be around 28. Each year I struggle with this dilemma. When do you prune and what criteria do you use?

Forsythia started about 10 days ago and we had nights in low to mid 20’s.

Pruning off dead wood won't hurt them regardless of the temperature. Most roses can handle dips into the 20's without trouble anyway. Go ahead and prune is my advice.

I am pruning very early, month ago, just after seeing buds swollen. Wild Forsythia in park next to me started to bloom Feb 23 this year.
