No matter what, it looks too large for the space and you are suffocating the toilet

You do not need a side splash, nor protection to quality paint on the shiplap wall.

Your post is confusing, so clarify exactly what your are doing?

I would be inclined to go with function over form due to limited space. Add spacer on left wall front and have vanity top go flush to the left wall. This helps to avoid cleaning issues. There shouldn't be a hand towel hanging next to the toilet. Consider placing on the left wall with either same one of a hook style. That door is so pretty!

I agree I am confused and what vanity is the pic you show I assume the old one. The new one needs to go to the wall no side splash but good paint on the shilap no towel next to the toilet and have you measured to make sure you have the space from center of toilet to the vanity edge it needs to be 15" to meet code in most places.

Thanks Jackowskib! We considered hanging the towel on the left wall, but there are outlets there, so concerned about safety.

I agree with Jan Moyer - a sidesplash isn't necessary. Would you consider a new and smaller size vanity with open shelving below for needed storage?

Put the new vanity to the left as far as possible OR a filler strip to cabinet on the left-make vanity top flush with left wall-put towel ring on the right on the wall next to the mirror OR hang shelves over the toilet and put a hook or two on the shelf on the left to hold the hand towel.

Thanks everyone! I love the disposable towel idea :) My BF gets ready in the bathroom every morning, so the vanity needs to hide all of his toiletries. I'm leaning toward shelving over the toilet...love that idea. I decided on the furniture look (with legs, no side splash) and will post pics once it's done.
