Does the furniture and wall decor belong to you or are they included in a rental?

What is your question? is this a new home? a furnished apartment?

The wall color isn't right with the sofas. It's hard to tell because of the lighting in the room, but it doesn't look like it goes with the flooring very well either. You could repaint the walls white which would brighten up the room and hopefully go with whatever you eventually buy to replace the sofas. If this room opens up into the kitchen you need to consider the color of the kitchen cabinets as well when choosing a wall color. The sofas are driving the bus now, so a neutral rug similar to what jck910 showed would be best.

I’d paint white (walls look pinkish?) as that alone will make a big difference. Move crate(?) elsewhere and add a white console/tv there instead. Lessen the green influence with a rug, which will also ground that area, and replace cushions. Remove wall items and start with adding art over couch and don’t hang too high. Other walls can be figured out later. If planning on no green down the road, add neutrals to allow for other colors.

Another question i forgot to ask. My daughter wants some sort of rattan lamp shades over kitchen counter and table ((table is white with wooden top in last picture , what do you suggest??

Do you prefer to just add a couple hundred dollars' worth of changes now and defer anything else? Will you be keeping or changing most of the decor (it looks like family-comfortable 1990's, leaning toward classics) in a year or so? There is no right answer, it's a personal choice.

I suggest removing the wall decor throughout the living and kitchen area since you don't care for the ship's wheel, the fish, or the turtles.

Before you make decisions on what to change/purchase don’t do in isolation. Having a direction, saving ideas/deciding on how you want the entire space to feel is important. I’d add more color and some patterns (rug and cushion - it‘s ok to mix). Look on Marketplace for items, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money, try Marketplace, Marshall's, Ikea, and Target. I used the rattan light you referenced as my jumping off point; just imagine room with your couches.

I like your new sofa arrangement. (I actually like the sofas!) Remove all the wall decor. Hang a collection of four framed pieces of artwork like in the arrangement below. The wall is very tall so don't be afraid to have them take up some height.

Kendrah's example and idea are perfect for getting started and making use of what you have now.

We might suggest removing all of the art that is already on the walls and the new layout does look more ideal for the setup. Maybe look at getting a lower, longer TV console and a jute rug. Otherwise the paint and other updates can wait until you're able to do them. Note all of the rugs used in our designs below:
