Don't like them at all, the classics are more elegant in my opinion.

Not sure if this is the same species, but close enouch for the look. You get one big, wide leaf sticking in a pot. These, or something similar sold in local HD now regularyly, don't even see the standard ones.

The sans mansoniana aka "whale fin" went completely bonkers in popularity around 2019. At that time, they were not readily available in the U.S. I'm sure there were growers who had them but the general plant shopper rarely saw them. I did purchase mine at a rare plant charity auction in 2019. Mine has made several pups but the main leaf never got huge like the ones I see more often.

I think there is room for all kinds. Some people really like them, some don't. I also have a Dawei which is a similar look to mansoniana but grows multiple shoots more like other sans.

But if you only like the "traditional" ones what does that mean?

You like the trifasciata? What about the fernwood with its narrow cylindridal leaves? What about the boncel with its big fatty cylindrical leaves? What about the miniature bird nest types? There are so many types of sans! Something for everyone.

Yes, not a fan of the cylindrical leaves, nor the bird's nest either. Don't mind those that are just green without the yellow., to each, his/her/etc. own.

Nothing wrong with that! For sure, to each their own. That's the great thing about plants. There are so many that there really is something for everyone.

And for me, I consider it a blessing if there is a plant I don't like. Because there are SO many that I do. I barely have room for them!

I don't know why, but the only plant I really ever disliked were pelargoniums (geraniums), I think it is the scent, but I like the lemon/citronella scented ones, go figure! P.S., Yes, being so TOLERATE of botanical diversity means I have major collections of..., palms, cycads, citrus, bananas, Araucaria, cacti & other succulents, etc.

I still like the traditional/common ones better, these are boring to me, almost like plastic.

As an avid collector of sansevieria. The basic green ones are laurentii are boring to me I like some of the new Indonesian hybrids like the pagoda tower

. However there's plenty of native traditional ones like to enjoy their uniqueness.

Gardenfanatic, in your pic is S. cylindrica. They make those pots with individual leaves and then when rosettes start to grow up out of the soil, (normally), people ask what is wrong with their plant.

When they started to hybridize them and then add chemicals to variegate them, I do love some of them.

I have quite a collection of them.
