Need a floorplan. Does the piano have to stay?

Piano can go. Not sure how to do floor plan. Will draw one.

You have a family room next to this room - is that where you watch tv? How do you need this room to function when you entertain ?

Just as another gathering space. No tv needed on this room. Also I do like to read in this room so a reading chair & floor lamp would be nice

Not sure your room can accommodate a sectional as you enter. Measurements for the sectional will be critical. If this sectional is 108" x 108" getting into the room could be an issue.

I don't think a sectional is all that great for entertaining. Post a picture of the stair wall. I would go with a sofa and 2 comfy chairs.

What about a larger rug and two swivel chairs facing each other.
