last modified: 2 years ago

Mystery flower sprouted. My neighbor gave me a few bulbs a couple years ago, but this itls the first time this appeared. Kind of looked like a tulip when it first came out of the ground, but quickly started formed a flower. The flower looks similar to a Day Lily. Any help is much appreciated.

It looks like a strange tulip. Could it have been planted too deep?

It IS a tulip! Something just happened during its growth cycle to prevent it from developing properly. It could be too deep a planting depth: conversely, it could be too shallowly planted, which can expose the bulb to temperature spikes that can inhibit proper development.
