Were it me I would choose Option 1, straight at the entrance until the closet then change to longs ways the balance of the rooms.

Thanks for your reply millworkman, I am tempted to do this, but I wish I could avoid a change of planes, so with the width of that hallway entrance being 58", and its length not being too long (about 10' to the end of the closet), I am leaning towards option 3.

I think we all agree that option 2) should be out of the question?

I would lay it lengthwise from balcony to bedroom. No directional change, continuous throughout to avoid having to mill tongue and grooves at transition spots. It's less work and much simpler to run it continuous.

Thanks G & S Floor Service, option 3 is what I am thinking as well. Client pointed out to me that another unit in the building went with option 2, which is a bit surprising, see picture enclosed.

Agree definitely more waste. Visually I feel that option is also not as esthetically pleasing.
