The high-end kitchen showrooms frequently have them installed because of the look and cleaning aspect. The sales lady at the Boffi showroom told me she has them at her house and loves them. I don't have a gas line, and so rather than install Pitt burners, I decided to go with induction with my upcoming remodel. Cleaning appears better with the Pitt burners than regular gas grates but still not as easy as induction. I'm not a cook who has to cook on gas though either.

For those looking to reduce the visual impact of appliances, the other options are the Invisacook type products where the actual cooking units are entirely hidden under the kitchen countertop and it cooks through the stone via induction. Gaggenau recently introduced this option in Europe and the Middle East. Cooking Surface Prime and TPB are competitors to Invisacook, who may have a better product than Invisacook at this moment in time. I passed on this technology too because I didn't think it was ready for prime time yet. There are several thread on this on the Houzz website.

Did you end up going with the Pitt burners? I'm considering doing this as well, but cant find a lot of real life opinions.
