What Size Shower Floor Tile in Curbless Shower with Linear Drain?

Primary bath renovation. We are planning on a porcelain Dolomite tile for all of the tile: 24X48 Polished for the shower walls and 12X24 Satin for the bathroom floor. Our concern is what to use for the shower floor. Although we love the look of the same floor running out from the shower across the bathroom, I am concerned about the slip factor if we were to use the 12X24. The DCOF of the tile we are currently looking at is .44. The tile does have a matching 4x4 hex but only in Polished, not Satin.

Thoughts?

For anyone with a curbless shower and linear drain what did you use and how has your experience been?

We used the same 24x48 porcelain tiles on shower walls, shower floor and bathroom floor. we havent have had any issues with it being slippery

We went in a different direction for the shower floor. After visiting 4 different tile stores we could not find anyone that would endorse a larger format for the shower floor due to the dangers of slipping. We did our own slip and slide test by placing several tiles on our front porch and then dousing with water and shampoo/conditioner. I found it slippery, my husband did not. Out of an abundance of caution I did not think it was worth the risk. We ended up with a 1"x4" herringbone mosaic from the same dolomite tile line and are very happy with it. We also went with a standard drain not linear. We did stay with curbless. Love the 24x48 on the shower walls and the 12x24 works well on the floor.

My daughter did a 30 X 30 in her curbless shower. She tested the tiles on the floor with water and shampoo and found it was not slippery, Some of the other tiles she looked at were slippery.

She hasn't had any problems in the last 6 months with the tiles she chose.
