    Hi there, it has a wood/butcher's block style. It's practical if you are okay doing a bit of refinishing work on it once in a while. It's basically a large butcher's block—think of it this way: if you have a wood dining table, when you use it, you may need to be a bit careful with it, or you can treat it like a workstation and just know that you might have to refinish it once every couple of years. We do use no-VOC, stain-resistant finishes on it, but it really depends on how you work in your kitchen.
