We are going to do a refresh to our main floor bathroom. The 18" floor tile will remain (it matches the rest of the downstairs) however want to replace the bathtub tile and possibly the counter (it matches our kitchen but has a chip and perhaps we refresh with something lighter/brighter).

Our updated upstairs bathrooms have 12x24 tile on the floor and walls, however need suggestions for tile color & size for the tub area (can we use 12x24 with the existing 18" floor tile) - the floor is very busy so I'm thinking something more muted? I will be replacing the fixtures/mirror, but the towel racks, etc. will remain (they are nice quality and in good shape). Do I need to replace both the flooring and the wall tile so they match or can I just do the walls without it looking like I was too cheap to replace the floor!
