I removed three hybrid teas to make room for her. What if I just let her sprawl? Will she form a bush?

Is it the shrub version of Lady Hillingdon or the climber, Sylvia? I have the shrub, entering it’s third season and so far it’s needed no support:

The wires in the background are for Alister Stella Gray, which I’m training along the top of the fence, the Lady is freestanding.

Mine is doing well without support.

My LH wanted you to see she has more blooms opening. She has a sprawled out shape.

My Lady Hill blooms are just lasting a day (east facing). Is that a normal thing for teas? In her second year, blooming well. And how does she repeat through the season? Thanks.

LH repeats here. I read it repeats better if deadheaded. I think the blooms last longer than that here, Fire. This is 4 days I think.

I think Tea flowers go by faster than HTs but they are really beautiful.

Fire, not a prolific bloomer or repeater for me yet, but it’s still comparatively young for a tea. The first blooms this year balled in the rain, but it’s since put out a decent number of new red shoots. I think Marlorena’s UK experience would give you a better idea of what repeat to expect. I think she said ’scattered blooms’ after her first (spectacular) flush. Mine is the shrub version and yours the climber so that might make a difference too.

Yes, teas don’t last that long when cut, but I have other roses for that.
I just want to see my LH grow and bloom. Just fed it and gave it some coffee grounds.
