Bathroom Layout Dilemma _ Help!

My Primary Bathroom is tiny 6’ x 7’ feet. The adjacent guest/hall bathroom is a bit larger 7’ x 9 feet. I have been dreaming about taking space from the guest bath for years, essentially moving the wall between them over by a foot or so to allow for a larger shower and vanity in the Primary bath. While anything can be done, moving that wall would require moving the toilets that feed into the waste pipe that is in that wall. We would need to cut through the house joists, etc, at a hefty price tag.

The floor plan below is one that will get me a larger shower and vanity in the Primary. I am pushing the tub over in the hall bath to provide space for a larger shower . The issue is that I am not sure how the hall bath will look ~ I am not a fan of seeing the toilet from the door.

I welcome any comments or suggestions to help solve my dilemma.

Seems creative! As long as there's space to really stand in front of that second sink by the toilet, I think you've managed it! I wouldn't let the door placement in the guest bath slow you down. Everyone knows there's a toilet in there. The sink is still the first thing you encounter.

My only question is about where the plumbing is in the new master shower. You need a fair amount of wall free for your pocket door -- plumbing on left or back? if the latter, put the controls on a nearer wall so you don't get drenched while pre-heating the shower...

Thanks for pointing that out acm. The pocket door is 24” and that wall will be 48” - good point, I would have to reach in 2 feet if we put the shower head and controls on that side.

Why put the toilet at an angle? That's never a good look. Just straighten it out.

That acute angle in the shower isn't providing any benefit, it just unnecessarily complicates things, so remove that extra bit and square up the corner. That would also give you a place to hang your towels.

Put the drain for the shower in the middle so you don't have a steep slope at the entrance.

The way you've drawn the shower seems to suggest that you plan on tiling it. So, if you must have a pocket door, put the pocket on the vanity side so you don't compromise the integrity of the wall that will be tiled. But it's better to get rid of the pocket door. Swing it into the bedroom if you feel that it encroaches too much into the bathroom.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Get rid of your address and phone number.
