I have a young Black Gold cherry tree that I planted last spring. Its about 6’ tall and was fertilized about 6 weeks ago. When I checked on it last week, it looked great. Today I noticed all of the leaves are wilted, no obvious other symptoms. It gets about 6hrs of direct sun a day and my area has had light rain the past few days. It is planted in clay soil (I know, not ideal), as are my other well established fruit trees. I will likely need to transplant the cherry due to necessary excavation in my yard within the next few weeks. Im in zone 7a. Any idea of a cause or what I can do to help it? thank you!!!
