Back a few years ago I had endless summers hydrangeas planted in an area with all day sun with no trees. I am zone 6b and in summertime it could be hot(80-100 degress)degrees. They could not take those conditions, and had to be moved. I found some roses to plant in their spot, however I still have room in that area. I am looking for a flowerings shrub that is compact,perennial, and blooms until fall. I thought about bloomerang lilac, but someone told me they do not truly bloom springtime into fall. Is this true, even if they're advertised as rebloomers with long lasting blooms, do they just last as long as a regar lilac(springtime)? Will a bloomerang lilac bloom springtime into fall?
