Grace Rose Farm vs Michael Frances Roses

last year

You guys, I found the GRF lawsuit! For all of those blaming GRF, you are wrong. She had a growing partner that tried to steal her business and stole millions of dollars in intellectual property! Then also purposely hacked her big beautiful roses back to 2" and left them out in the winter when she dumped him for many legit reasons all outlined in the lawsuit. Perfect way to sabotage a beautiful growing business, yet GRF has dealt with all the hate and negative talk graciously! Gracie and Ryan do not deserve all of this hate. They hired experts to evaluate the roses and get them healthy as soon as they received them. It makes sense now why some people may have issues with the roses or why some roses have been defolated and are small. Also, remember people, these roses are shipped from California! So of course they are going to be overheated in their boxes. A little love, food, and water and they will be happy. I know they have been bending over backwards, as Gracie has said in posts, to help replace roses that don't arrive in perfect condition...due to the ex partner who ruined them. That grower fully attempted to steal Gracie and Ryan’s business, and when he couldn't because she walked away and sued him, he sabotaged her own root roses. The proof is all in the roses.
So here's to the truth! GRF is not a scam and has been in business for a decade. They are kind people who give so much to rose lovers. Spread the truth everyone, an innocent buisness doesn't deserve this. We know that her ex partner is planning on selling roses direct to consumer so let's all ban him before he makes a try. His roses will be garbage anyway and he will likely try to use Gracie's stolen customer lists that her ex employee stole for him. These are really bad people who don’t care for roses. All they care about is the money and that’s why Gracie left them. Bad greedy grower.

Even so .. sending these pitiful cuttings should not have happend. refunds should have been sent , instead they sent way inferior products that is part of the tarnishing here . i think people would have prefered the truth , than tiny cuttings . or maybe the option for a refund . idk . im still waiting on two roses and who knows what will come

Ben did you mean to link to something?

Case was dismissed...old news and such a silly way to distract from the real issues of the dead plants and lies they have told all year. BTW, i get plants delivered all of the time from Oregon, Heirloom has mailed me plants in the middle of the summer with triple digit heat in Louisiana and they were so well cared for before they shipped that they were in great condition 5 days later. the reason these plants look so horrible is b/c they weren't taken care of while in her possession.

    Case dismissed with prejudice...

Original post looked suspicious to me. And it was. GRF must be paying a publicist ( and not a very good one) instead of running a reputable business.

opine, that's because Oregonians are awesome. Trust me, I'm somewhat of an expert 😂

Its ok. when i first made account I didnt know how to update. You will figure out how to change “HU-198802693” to be ”Grace Rose Farm”.

You are blaming everyone but still sending bad product and expecting everyone to say Thanks. 😡

I'm sure this isn't the first time a retailer/vendor has had problems with a grower. Usually the retailer does not collect any money from customers until the product is in customer hands (e.g. at a local nursery or big box store, you walk out with the plant you pay for that day, that very day). If they cannot deliver what was advertised, Vendors refund customers or don't collect money at all, and go after the grower for breach of contract or other damages. Crop insurance may be involved.

Vendors take the risk because they have the opportunity to profit, customers do not take that risk because they are not investors who have profits to gain. GRF collected the money from customers months/a year before (customers already extended them this interest-free loan) they paid for and received the plants from Francis, and when things went awry, instead of refunding customers, are either not sending anything or sending an inferior product than advertised.

Lastly, be mindful these are one-sided, unproven accusations and on the end of receiving accusations as a customer, I'd not believe every word of the accusation.

If they stole the customer lists does that mean they also stole our info we provided GRF? If so why havent any of the customers been notified?

Kitty, did you lose any money with your GRF orders?

P.S. As much as I loved Menagerie, 2 out of the 28 roses I ordered from them this spring didn’t survive the summer. They only have a 30-day warranty, so that’s money lost.

P.S. It wasn’t GRF that deleted the thread; it was Houzz. As a platform, they likely want to avoid potential lawsuits from harmful comments directed at GRF.

i received GRF refund and was satisfied.

GRF legal Case w/ M. was dismissed by Grace, I see on her request form above posted. . Therefore, no oroof of any wrong doing by either party. Best not to continue to claim “dismissed allegations“ or opinions.

From my experience , GRF own root roses season 2024 were possibly damaged due to “surprise Polar Blast freeze March whole week 2024, “ no fault to anyone, may have happened in transit or at GRF.which had some growth damaged leaves & black canes resulting. I had same damage to some of my roses on property that freeze week, too as did many people across the nation. It only takes several hours for a small own-root 6” rose to have frost burn on canes or root damage which later turns into dried leaves & black canes.

Then GRF tried to grow them to recover which resulted in unforseen delays. Then the own-root roses were damaged again sometimes when shipped in later hotter June for me & hot weather shipping for others with wilted dried leaves. They were small own-roots roses. My GRF rose was about 6 inches tall, Notting Hill rose. My rose did not survive the shipping and GRF refunded me. It was a series of unfortunate events.

GRF is an innovative rose farm & florist with many positive possibilities.

Francis is the largest grower in the western hemisphere with a good reputation. . I would wish all nurseries well!

    Carlos,

Try googling “April & Ashley roses…. “ for online sale now! A&A opened in January 2025! Francis partnered with A&A to give us farm fresh roses! He had florist bouquets & rose bushes for sale from European breeders. I ordered a White O’Hara bouquet and 3 florist types of rose bushes from A&A. Lovely!

Then GRF dismissed and settled her case w/ Francis.

I wish both rose businesses well and I am glad they settled.
