I'm south of you, closer to the water. I planted these plants in pots inside my lanai. It faces east and they get sun most of the day. I only water once a week. They don't like too much water and don't drop leaves. I would try similar plants to add some color and texture to that area.

You could put some in pots too, to add height and texture to the space.

Very pretty - where are the pots from? would you recommend just leaving the area between the fence and pool cage just bare with the rocks?

Pots are from a local pottery vendor. They have 2 locations in south west FL, so not convenient for you. There should be a similar shop in your area.

I would not leave that bare. You could even plant some Areca Palms to soften the look.
