Bosch dual fuel slide in range

last year

Perhaps a range would be a better replacement to a wall oven..

I am looking for a light range - (weight is an issue )

The Bosch dual fuel - induction - seems reasonable .

Any opinions would help me greatly.

THANKS

I have the option to replace an old thermador range on the island. ( only the oven stopped working- the gas stove top and draft still work well )

But with a downdraft and different sizes appliances it is very complicated to do.

We do not want to redo the kitchen but we need a functionning oven.

First we thought that installing an oven somewhere else then later on , then , when we will feel ready to switch to induction we would replace the thermador range on the island . ( not convinced that induction is for me right now).

We are exploraing all kink different ideas ....

Installing a range seems cheaper as work goes , it would not change the way the kitchen is set up which is quite functional.

We are in an old home, the kitchen is tiled and weight has to be minimum!

    Thanks for your help.

line 8 - we would replace the range by a cook top .

This is confusing. Are you looking for a dual-fuel range (gas cooktop with electric oven) or an induction range (induction cooktop with electric oven)? What's wrong with a gas range? What is the width of the existing range? Is there a downdraft hood behind the Thermador range now? Do you have a 240 volt circuit that would be required to power an induction or dual-fuel range?

I agree this is very confusing.

For 33 years , we have had a 30" Thermador range : duel fuel ( gas top + electric oven ) with its downdraft - gas top and downdraft still work well , but the oven is out of service, no repair possible !

After looking at different possibilities, we are now thinking that the best solution might be to replace the range with something similar and we are leaning towards: Bosch 30" range electric oven + induction top + a new downdraft.

(Apparently a downdraft + gas top are not compatible). to complicate things it not possible to install a ceiling draft.

Will check that we have sufficient power ! Thank you for the advice.

Anyone with experience with Bosch range dual fuel induction?

You might check Consumer Reports for induction range reviews ($10/month digital), including the Bosch HIS8055U. Installation instructions for the Bosch HDD80051UC downdraft hood do not show it installed with a range, only a cooktop. You might check out the Best D49M30SB downdraft which the manufacturer claims can be installed behind a range. Or just see if you can replace the range with some induction model that will allow you to keep the old downdraft hood.

    Thank you!

The downdraft we have now has the blower located just underneath the range , it was designed to work specifically for this range by Thermador. Not sure that it would work with other ranges or cook top.

I will check Consumer Reports ...
