We had an access panel through a vanity in one house.

We didn't tile the front, we put panels on the front of the tub made by the vanity cabinet manufacturer (so they matched) that were attached in such a way that they were easily removable. If you want to tile the front, ask your tile setter what they suggest and what they've done in the past. It is a mistake to have a tub with mechanicals that you can't get to as you already know.

Here you go:

You know, it's done all the time. You can type in "tub with tile with access panel" or similar and search so many images.

This is where it is important to interview your contractor or tile person. Tell them specifically what you want and how that person would accomplish it creatively. Find the person who knows exactly how to do it because they've done it before.

Thank you so much. I have doors that match the vanity now and am wondering if there is an alternative.

Doors/panels that match the vanity are much easier to deal with than anything made with tile and grout, specially when something goes wrong and it needs to be taken apart.

I was figuring out who to make an access panel for something else that was behind a tile wall and came across lots of kits online that were for making whirlpool access tile panel doors. The pictures made it look quite seamless. Some involved invisible magnetic "hinges" so you just "snap" the tiled panel into place.

Thank you
