Exterior Paint Help!

Need help with exterior paint. This is a 25 year old Dryvit house that needs updating. I am going for a modern look and will be painting the windows and scones black, and replacing the roof with black standing seam. I want the house to make a statement. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Update - the Architect firm is no longer around and the designer passed away. There are no blue prints, or any designs with the city. We did find out that the design of tge house is Art Deco.

So the house was designed in the style of some Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. This below is the temple in Oak Park, IL.

The house is MODERN. Black would be the wrong call for the windows and sconces. Bronze would be a better direction for your home. I might suggest warming up the color on the Dryvit from gray to a stone color. The house requires an extensive amount of landscaping by a landscape architect who understands how to do projects like this

Don't screw this house up. Do some research and make sure you don't ruin what you have.

This landscaping was all wrong for the house & if you're the one who had the vision to purchase the home, you did good so far. I'd be eliminating some of the black on the interior of the home also.

FLW also produced homes in this style in Los Angeles.

No matter what you do, this home is going to make a statement. The black features make sense. I think the home as its current color looks best and as it was intended to be. I'd focus more on landscaping to add color and texture.

I agree with the other commenters. The exterior color isn't really the problem. The lack of landscaping is an issue. A driveway built of pavers would be an improvement also. A plain asphalt drive is not doing a statement house any favors.

Have you considered consulting the architectural firm who designed it? Their name should be on file with the permits at city hall.

This home is absolutely gorgeous! I have no expertise or ideas for this beauty but just had to color test 18 different colors on our exterior and I found ballet white by Benjamin Moore to be a very agreeable color.

black and a gray

the wood tones sure do make a statement. these are all dryvit

are the windows vinyl? if so, you can't paint them.

black will be too drastic. ditto the lights.

go more for a bronze metal

I suppose you could remove them or tape them off and spray w/a bronze metalic spray.

landscaping will make or break that exterior. That asphalt driveway HAS to go.

A landscape designer is mandatory.
