New construction. i havent finalized plans yet.

i have a 5’ clawfoot tub

im aiming for a single vanity with more counter space.

im not planning to have a seperate toilet room.

If the dimensions of the space are fixed due to setback requirements and/or cost, please tell us what the exact dimensions are. Which one is the 14' wall? Can you put doors anywhere along the wall it shares with the bedroom? I prefer to have separate doors for each space but were you hoping to only have one door?

14’ goes vertical, 15’ is horizontal walls. the master bedroom is to the right of this space and the bedroom door is visible at the lower right hand corner of the pic. i previously had a pocket door for the entrance of the bathroom area but it is a blank slate and doors can be put at any point on that wall.

Here are a couple of ideas ive tossed around previously. We have relocated the ac closet to another part of the home so that will no longer be in the way.

Here is a quick rough sketch. It creates a dressing space before the bathroom, so that you aren’t walking through the bathroom to get a sweater, or getting locked out of the closet because someone needs some privacy. I would make those two closets reach-ins (I know, gasp!) but really, it’s the same amount of storage as walk-in, and it looks and stays tidier when the contents are behind closed doors.

I don’t know how large the safe is or how often you access it, but it tucks into a recess of the one closet that juts into the bathroom.

Again, very rough idea, eyeballed measurements, but by dividing it roughly in half, the closets are 8’ long, bathroom is 8’x14’. If you can rotate the tub, the door would be great towards the top, otherwise it’s kind of close to the toilet. The doors do not have to be centered.

How are you arranging the bedroom? Will the bed ”face” the closet and bath? Will you have a tv, or artwork, or furniture on that wall?

Think about how you use the space. If there are two of you in the main bedroom, do you use the bathroom one at a time? If so, the other person cannot use the closet. You also have the issues of humidity in the closet from the bathroom. I would suggest you consider rotating your plan 90 degrees or flipping it completely so that you walk past the closets to go to the bathroom. Lastly, think about what is on the opposite side of the wall from the toilet wall. Flushing noises ... need I say more?

Your second idea isn’t bad, if you like the one-sided closet. I might make the passage in front of the window open to the bedroom, no door there, and add a wall and door (pocket?) to the bathroom. Feels kind of classic. Or, flip it so that the bathroom is at the top with the window, and the passage to the bath and closet at the bottom. That would be handy when you need to pop in for the aforementioned sweater. Although, now you have possible collision with the bedroom door.

I plan to have the bed facing the closet. overall, id like to keep my bedroom as free from furniture as possible. a bed, nightstands on both sides, and maybe a dresser. I’d like to do picture frame molding in the bedroom.
