Problems:

- White uppers, wood-tone lowers, white countertops, stainless steel appliances. 4 color changes, all solids, is too much.

- The white uppers and the white countertops are too similar without being identical ... looks accidental.

What I'd do, though it isn't cheap:

- Make the uppers wood-tone to match the lowers. The two-tone look is hard to pull off.

the big offender is the diag upper cab in the corner. its capturing the light rays differently......adjust ceiling bulbs if possible.....what are the positions / type of bulbs/ dimmer? . lumens and kelvin etc , ? after that.....you could swap the diagonal solid door for full glass since the top bit is already glass...this would be simple ....and I think that position is the biggest problem. dont worry about the counter comparisons w the cabinet paint.....its a glaring stark situation right now.....it will change w appliances/ backsplash/ accesories, etc yet to factor in.. I like your kitchen for the simplciity .... start working on backsplash possibilities/ prop up some tiles w some detail and focus to help w your concern.

I don't see any problems colorwise with uppers and countertop. In your second picture with lights on, the issue might be with color of the light. It looks like it's going to be a nice kitchen, so don't stress much ;-)

Will you post more photos that show more of the kitchen? Extra photos will help the people who read this post later. Make sure that you include a photo(s) that shows the floors also.

Your lighting isn’t helping - the corner (angled) cabinet (and hood) looks so much whiter in the second photo than the other cabinets.

I have seen kitchens on here with a similar issue (the white of countertops is too cool or too warm for the white of cabinets). I’m sure that some pros + non-pros will add some advice/suggestions that are less costly than replacing your brand new white stacked upper cabinets with wood ones to match your lowers (although that would address the issue - but at a great expense).

Most posters who had issues with countertop color clashing with cabinets had the case where there were all white cabinets or white base cabinets with white countertop. It was usually the situation when the countertop was white going in blue hues with white warm cabinets. I don't see this problem from your pictures. Based on your pictures your uppers are warm white and so your countertop. They don't have to be exactly same color, they should just go with each other/not clash.

I'd look for a backsplash that has both shades of white/cream, experiment with different light bulbs, then forget about it. My cabinets, appliances, sink and trim are different shades of white. Once I added my red tea kettle, a fruit bowl, dish towels, a knife block, etc. I never again noticed it. Trying to achieve perfection mid-remodel will drive you nuts. I like what you have. Finding your backsplash will be adventure. So many possibilities!

Break it up by finding a backsplash with various colors of white/off whites to blend the two OR get a color in backsplash such as neutral green which will provide interest and separation from whites.

I think it will be much better once appliances and backsplash are in. But that tile in the photo is not the right backsplash—don’t add a third white tone to the mix. Use a color, and then tackle lighting if you still don’t like it. But I think it will look less stark when it’s not against the primed wall with nothing separating the whites.
