Thank you! It's odd, I found it listed on a Cornell webpage for invasive species. Everything else on that list I could ID with my eyes closed, but this one was new. Also, I've never seen the pods open. Something seems to be eating them green.

I do now know I should go full Dalek on them - EXTERMINATE!

For comparison here's my Matelea carolinensis or Angle-Pod. You can just make out the flower buds at the top, the maroon flowers will appear in about two weeks. The bumpy follicles open in the fall and release seed which becomes airborne. You do not have Angle-Pod.

Interesting they call Matelea caroliniensis an anglepod, as one of it's common names? Gonolobus suberosus is more worthy of that name.
