Blank wall space

What would you put on the wall here? We have an open concept living room/dining room with these 2 awkward windows to a brick wall.

Do those windows provide any light? If not i think i would have them removed and then add colorful art to your walls.

They really don't add any light. They look out to a brick wall. We can't have them removed unfortunately due to the historic status of the house.

Could you post some pics of the area from other vantage points? Shots that include the whole dining room.

You could close the windows up from the inside and drywall over the opening.. The sconce looks lonely. Would remove it also.

They are oddly placed. You can either

. remove them (sheet rock them over from the inside)

. fill them with some interesting shades like lattice work from delia shades

. hide them with full-length draperies or remove the molding to make it flush and then hang art over them

. try to have them make sense by adding other niches on the wall and fill them all with art, or hang contemporary art around them to make like a gallery wall.

Lighting I agree would need to be improved as that wall sconce is lonely and misplaced.

If you could post a picture of more of the wall so we could see it in the full space, it would be helpful.

Hang some handsome, lightly patterned drapes. You don’t have a view outside the windows anyway.

The sconce is too small. Take it away.

You could cover them up with large paintings.

I would find some way to hide them. Art, mirror, tapestry, etc. Which application would depend on the decor in the rest of the space.

Light colored drapes that block out the redness of the brick that are Maybe window darkening and art just above the dining room table and low enough that you can see the art pretty good and Below dependent will you be getting a different pendant? If so a nice round shape

I’d keep the windows as they are, and add similar white moulding in a gallery style to fill the wall. Interesting ideas on how to fill them with your own designs can be found at architectureartdesigns.com.

If you like paint the wall to match the brick & the window trim the same? Put vase in window inserts to look like a shadow box or cut out look.

I'd put stained or leaded glass pieces in to obscure the view without blocking all the light.

That be good too! There is the film to apply. Or frosted.

Wow this is so helpful! Any more ideas about how to do a gallery wall? Thank you everyone for your help and input so far!

Another thought came to mind measure the window to window and the height of the area that you would like to place a large long mirror you could even do that and it will bounce light around the room
