or..........build the platform to suit WHATEVER height you want, YOUR LG machines, and buy a rolling cart, just like they use in your neighborhood laundromat. In that case? No pullout shelf will be necessary.

Make your life simple get a rolling foldable cart if you are not able to bend over to unload a laundry basket. Your shutoff IMO should be reachable and obviuos . I know not pretty but a flood is even less pretty .

Have to admit this is a new concept for me. Our clients usually prefer to have washer and dryer sitting on the floor with shelving and cabinetry above.

I believe this is a bend ISSUE for the aging mom.....

The point is, if worth doing? Do it to suit mom. Build it. and the rolling cart is easier than LIFTING a basket .

Where did you get that idea.Never mind I should have clued in after all the posts. The big deal is the access to the shut offs I wounder if there are ADA ideas for those .

I also have a basket with fold-out legs. However, both "solutions" make it harder to reach the back of the drum.

Know where the MAIN water shut off is and boldly tag it, and beyond that add a central drain in the laundry floor.

At some point it is to reinvent a wheel. Beauty/function.
