kitchen renovation dilemma

Hi everyone. We have two renderings for our kitchen. One has wall to wall pantry where the other one has a small open shelf where we could put an appliance like our espresso machine. The rest of the kitchen would stay the same.

Looks great with the drink station to break it up. I would move the drink cooler under it instead of where it’s at under island. Consider having deep drawers under the cooktop and left of sink. Easier to use.

Hi what do you mean by moving the drink cooler? It’s a wine fridge actually. Where do you think it should go?

You appear to have very insufficient clearances between clean up wall and island, and island and pantry wall.

From the looks of it? The island should not be in that kitchen.

Post the cad drawing/2 dimension plan with al the the dimensions for everything, and when you do? I will stand corrected.

Lots more to worry on than an espresso machine: )

Post pictures of the as is condition, as well.

We are redoing our current kitchen which already has an island in it and plenty of room on both sides.

What you have now, may not be the best? It looks quite crammed. What is "plenty"? in inches.

It would help to see what you have now, and to know if you are just updating finishes or trying to improve function.
I have a similar pantry wall, and would reconfigure it given the budget and opportunity.
It looks like you have plenty of storage so I’d opt for the open space and a bit more counter. But you’d be walking around the island with water and coffee cups to make espresso over there, it looks like. What will be in your appliance garage?

First IMO always bad design to pass the range on the way from fridge to sink.. The plan looks very crammed and a bit claustrophobic IMO. The range has no storage on either side all the base cabinets should be drawers and a wall of pnatries IMO are nice whne thye are all true pullouts It looks to me like you do noot have soace for the island . Post a to scale plan here on graph paper in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post . Then you will get lots of free advice often form prop kitchens designers .

Have to agree with other posters - the kitchen seem claustrophobic. How much width do you have between the island and the adjacent cabinetry? We also recommend 48" but will go down to 42" if absolutely necessary.

I also agree with moving the wine fridge. It’s using prime real estate in the work area; the end of the island or the pantry wall makes more sense to me.
If you start tweaking the pantry wall, take care with cabinet sizes. It looks like you already have 3 different size doors on the top row although that could be perspective of the rendering.

I am not a kitchen designer, but the cabinet on the right side (sink side) that goes counter to ceiling seems to contribute to the cramped feeling and may block light streaming in from your window. I would much rather have an uninterrupted counter from the sink into the eating area. Is that cabinet for small appliance storage? Could our kitchen designers chime in?

The pantry side to island is 43” and the side from island to sink is 39”

Sooo many cupboards.Best to break it up. I would consider more base drawers rather than doors

The 39" clearance between sink and island is far less than ideal by at least 6 inches. You may be used to it, maybe you are always alone in the kitchen.

We're not seeing a cad drawing with feet and inches for everything.

You have a cook top....which necessitates a wall oven. A drawer style microwave could perhaps work for you. Maybe a range vs the cook top?

What everyone is trying to say is it both appears cramped and is cramped, and appears created by a cabinet seller vs a CKD.

Your home, your kitchen: ) and all WE can see is what we see.
