Hardscape Solutions Pls!

Hi! We have a small fenced in backyard in a desert city. Grass is dead so we’d like to expand the hard surface beyond the current cement pad. There are tree roots and a slope down toward there back fence. Any suggestions? Would love inspiration pics too!

How about a step up to a deck with a hole for the tree? What is the slatted structure on the left?

The left is basement window well with slated cover. A deck was an initial idea, although we are nervous for rats to make a home underneath it.

Expand the hardscape on each side of the concrete pad with pavers that are configured around the trees.

They could pour more concrete as an alternative and then get some concrete stain to unify the old and new cement.

With your two new separate areas, place lounge chairs on one side of the kitchen and an eating table and chairs on the other.

Place pots and plants in front and around of the window well. The blue is to show layout only.
