The flowers will be key to zeroing in on the ID of the yellow one. The HL shows a different flower for 'August Moon' and the the listing for 'Daybreak' doesn't really have any close-ups of the flowers, only the entire plant with scapes and flowers and they don't look like what you have I'd say. Having said all that, I'm not sure I 'm of much assistance here, pulling blanks...

It does help Pieter, as it confirms my thinking that the yellow one isn’t what I thought. Hoping others will have ideas. I have had this hosta for probably 15 years, and it most likely came from Wade and Gatton.

American Gold Heart? There’s only one pic in the HL which doesn’t look quite as yellow as yours, but it’s a Wade hosta.

The second one could be Blue Cadet I think, flower seems the same……just guessing really.

The second one seems too round for Blue Cadet. Mine didn't bloom this year, so I can't be sure.

We used to buy a lot of hostas from Van Wade so I looked at some lists I made when I bought them. My 2012 list says we bought a hosta called Golden Delight. I am at the office but I will try and look tonight and see if I still have it. All that being said, I learned that sometimes hostas had the wrong tags. You could wander through the different hoop houses and find all kinds of hostas grouped together with the same name tags. When I looked them up later I found that the tags were wrong so I never really knew what I got. He had a ton of different blues back then and I got lots of them that year but none seem to match what you have in the picture.

There's still a 2011 Wade and Gatton Hosta List pdf online. I know it's huge (over 200 pages) but it will show you what he had at that time. Granted, he often listed stuff which he sold out and never replaced. But, if you have names you can always look them up and see if they are listed at all. If they aren't listed then he wouldn't have sold you one.

Golden Waffles??? For the other, if it is Blue Cadet the flowers remind me of BME flowers.

Miles, I have a print copy of that catalog and havent looked at it in years. I had hole-punched it and put it in a binder along with yearly price lists. And I have discovered that I have tons of handwritten notes of things I had seen in the display gardens and wanted to look at in the hoop houses. I’m so glad you mentioned that catalog! I will go through it this weekend and see what i find.

Do you think the yellow one could be Stardust? I found a receipt that says I bought one in 2010. Here it is today in the heat:

I have had the yellow one for 10-15 years, the blue more than 20. Here is the blue one today, the glaucous coating is gone.

There is Hosta ID on FB pages. Andrea Mink and Mary Ann run it, they very knowledgeable. You will need to post some reference to the size aka some item near it, any history that you think of, close up on the leaf and stem color/ underside and possibly flower to get a best guess. Too many hostas really nonspecific to ID. Do not know if you are member of your local hosta society but IN has strong group and lots of breeders in it. You just might recognize something when you visit other's gardens.
