I made a 3D rendering of a layout that would look great in your room. I thought that a loveseat in additon to a sofa and armchair would look way too crowded so I opted for two armchairs in my design

Looks great, but I would keep the couch where it is.

Can we get a hand sketch of the room with measurements of the walls, the windows, the fireplace and any doors and openings as well as the width of the couch? That would help a lot.

Below is a layout suggestion. A sofa table with lamps behind the sofa, 2 comfy armchairs with side table, 1 lounge chair & with ottoman and reading lamp, a large square coffee table, TV on long TV stand, curtains, plants in corner.

@lisedv gave a great layout. A TV console at least 25% wider than the TV so it doesn't look so top heavy. Pay attention to the furniture sizes, nothing to large or puffy. Make sure you bring your floor plan when shopping. Go to stores and try out for comfort. I would also add drapery panels because your windows lack trim.

Not knowing what size your TV is here is a silly question; will the TV fit on the wall to the left of the fireplace? Just wondering. The light switch looks like it will be in the way.

Wow, that was quick! I agree that’s too bad because it sure would make it possible to open the room up a whole lot more. How many people use the room daily? How many guests do you want to accommodate? I asked this question because Jaxson’s Arrangement is a good one unless you need to have more people seat it to watch TV on a daily basis.

We are in that space on a daily basis. Right now it’s just my husband and me and my daughter. But we do have friends over from time to time. I think that having some extra chairs will make it work.

Added to above, I said that because now that we know that the kitchen and dining room is right there behind the couch, it would be nice to have the room opened up and more accessible.

I have some very comfortable swivel chairs that I can recommend. I have tried them out myself and have several clients who have found them comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.. That being said then the couch needs to stay where it is so that you can accommodate your family on a daily basis. The swivel chairs that I am recommending come from world market cost plus. I will try to send a picture of them for you.
