For me, relaxing means soft, quiet, restful, so I've kept things simple. Maybe a soft sage green for trim? (I left shutters and door as is.)

I can't tell what the golden shrubs are. Golden vicary privet, perhaps? If so, those will want to get quite large, although they can be kept smaller with regular pruning. I kept the one on the left (heavily pruned) and moved one to the right corner (but it would probably have to be pruned frequently there, too, even though it could get larger--but maybe not this large!). The other two I replaced with roses, because the front of the porch seems like a good location where they can be enjoyed. I did substitute a different rose (this is David Austin's Roald Dahl). The rose Eustacia Vye is gorgeous, but my eyes want a more coral or even apricot color against the brick. Maybe the two extra privets and the pink rose you love could find a home in the back yard, where they would have more space and the rose would be seen against what looks like green woods instead of the brick?

This edit does widen the walk from the driveway, space out the stairs, and pull all of that forward, so the shrubs in front of the porch have more space. Maybe a "someday" project? Otherwise, I just "grew" the shrubs and planted vines on each side of the driveway.

You wanted four-season interest. I'd suggest a tapestry of small bulbs under the roses for early spring color while the roses are still dormant (the bulbs will go back to sleep before the roses really get going), and maybe an edge of chocolate chip ajuga in front of the boxwood for a line of later-spring blue? (Ajuga will invade a lawn if you don't keep after it; you might want an edging to contain it.) The privet and the roses will supply late spring to fall color. The white-flowering vine on the fence is Clematis virginiana (virgin's bower), which blooms July-September. Winter will be a bit sparse, though; the boxwood is evergreen, but everything else will have dropped its leaves. You could add a coral bark maple (Acer palmatum 'Sango-Kaku'), which offers color in all four seasons in both its leaves and the bark of its younger branches. (The tree makes this picture less balanced, though. I want to add something on the left as well, but there isn't space. Maybe the neighbors have something?!)
