Lighting Design Dilemma Kitchens

spacing/hanging island pendants?

Building new house and will hang two pendants over the island. I know three seems to be the magic number but the large flatscreen hangs across the room from the island’s sink and I am hoping NOT to have the pendants reflected in the screen. I think w/two lights they will be outside the screen’s edge…
Anyway
What are the proportions usually used to decide how large a light/globe/shade and how tall to hang them?
The island is about 8’ long. I haven’t measured the spacing for the pre wires in ceiling—it is 9.5’ tall.

An eight foot island needs only TWO pendants,

They should hang 36 inches from the BOTTOM of the light fixture to the TOP of the counter.....give take 2 inches.

Pay attention to stems/specs on your selection if that is the hanging method .

I don't think you will see the reflection regardless but didn't get glass pendants if you're concerned about it.

Yes—I already decided I had to avoid clear glass—and I would anyway because I don’t like to see the bulbs themselves shining through…just calls undue attention IMO
