Bert was over here this morning, he read my mind about getting the weeds out in the yard. I’m drinking my coffee and hanging out here in the forum.

I am really happy with the way all the plants that I planted last August have come up and filled in the garden. It’s got a full look which I was hoping to achieve. I have had to move a couple out of the sun bed…..Maui Buttercups was getting fried and so is Queen Josephine. QJ will get moved this afternoon.

I put Tootie Mae in a pot as it was so small, but she’s not looking great so far. We have had tons of rain so I really haven’t had to water much. I will check the pots today.

We are still waiting for the carpenter to come back home after the funeral he attended in Mexico. I imagine he has taken time to be with his family there. When he gets back, he will install the bathroom cabinet, sink and faucet. We are having an issue with the adjustment of the hot/cold water for the shower, so a Kohler plumber is coming out tomorrow to hopefully fix it for tell us what other part we may need. 🤞🏽

My ankle is better, but still swells during the day. The knee wound is finally healed, yay!!

Hubby had a bit health issues so garden went on back burner. Have lots of green tomatoes but nothing even close to ripe. Tons of lettuce and kale, making smoothies. Hybridizing did not go well, war with chipmunks, really hot weather, work... Hoping for better days now.

Big rain and wind last night so not much I can do beside try to pick up all the debri that came down. Grateful we didn't get the brunt of the storm, a little north of us there was extensive damage, Power out, trees down and lots of roads closed.

Good reminder of time to take pics. With the wind it's difficult to get good clear pictures but I did try to get a few flower pics. Hmm, didn't keep track of what I was taking.

Debra - Good to hear you are on the mend.

Paula, I hope you enjoyed your company. That’s a change to have kids in the house for a week. …..Have you tried putting cardboard down on your grass with mulch over it? I did that in the fall, so it sat over winter, and by spring the cardboard was gone and so was the grass. Made for easy planting.

Lindalana, I hope your hubby is doing better. It’s stressful when health issues come up.

Sorry to hear about the extreme weather so many of us are having.

We’ve been HOT!

I’ve gotten everything I had in pots planted but have since dug up and repotted a couple that weren’t getting enough water. I have to find better spots for them.

I lifted some hostas like the tiny Riviera Sunset to see if that would help them do better. Some looked like they sank too low in the soil after planting.

One day I started making a new path because a shed now blocks the old one. But no big hurry to get that done in the heat.

I put the Elephant Ears into the bigger pots even though they had just a little growth on the bulbs and no leaves yet. I hope the heat will encourage them. One that came with a little blemish on it was totally rotted. Disappointing because it was the only dark one.

Ann, I see how far yours are up already! I’m hoping mine grow or I’ll give up on them…. Again!

This weekend I might go to the air show at the air force base near us, but it depends on the heat and how ambitious DH and I are feeling.

The Peonies came and went in a flash because of the heat. As usual, not enough good pics of them.

Poppies put on a good show but are over with now.

Aruncus dioicus (Goat's Beard) is doing well.

Hosta of the week is Brentwood Blues. Another new one from Hornbakers.

Lindalana , I do hope your DH is feeling better….it’s hard when our loved ones are sick or having other issues. God knows my DH has been through the wringer with me over the years. Your LS Prophecy looks gorgeous!

Have say thank you to Paula, talking about skin issues. Made me more alert. Among other things hubby will be getting spots removed. This forum is good for something besides hostas 😆
