Fully Custom Sofa

I've been shopping for about a month for a replacement for our broken living room sofa. Haven't found anything that's quite as comfy. Best match so far is a Thayer Coggin model that is roughly $10k, but we don't like the arms as well (and no local showrooms have the actual model, just ones they say "feel about the same"). So, we're considering having a local company do a full rebuild/reupholster of this sofa, or getting a custom built new sofa.

What is the best way to commission a new truly custom sofa? Find a good local company? Or are there national makers that are best for this? This sofa is a modern-style Italian build, so presumably has a webbed frame, not springs. In case that makes a difference on how to find a furniture maker. Also, what is the minimum cost we should expect? We have no idea what is normal here--definitely don't want to go with something that's too low cost to be good quality.
