Streakers...!!!

No, not that kind of streaker! Get you mind out of the gutter. What is the current state of streakers? I imagine the streaking phenotype right now is the top of the list for breeders and being worked on everywhere but I am guessing is inherently unstable. What are some of the commonly available varieties that exhibit streaking that you may have or are on your list?

I love streakers. They also usually rare and expensive as they do not tissue culture well. As I remember late Naylor Creek owner Gary was mentioning about Quiet Wyatt out 1100 only about 100 was streaked. And he had his own TC lab.

So all streakers are usually collectors hostas unless you grow your own.

They also fussy and tend to reverse so your $100 plus investment can loose its streaking fairly fast.

Few are more common and less priced. You rarely can find one online but sometimes you get lucky.

    Ice age Trail.

This is Galaxy. I got it few years back from Fox Hosta farm

Confused Angel. Sterile and usually holds its streaking.

Streaker I got from seeds of Vision Quest Dan Wols gifted me few years back. It has survived some tumultuous years with me and this is highly streaked eye that I separated. First year bloom. I am like super hopeful .

I love lindalana’s streakers! She has some fabulous pics on these forum threads.

Ghost Spirit - streaky every spring but will ’green out’ as the summer progresses.

lindalana, where did you hear that Confused Angel is sterile? I've gotten several streaked seedlings out of mine. I have 14 named varieties that I keep in pots plus several others scattered throughout my gardens. I tend to like to keep them in pots as its a lot easier when making crosses and easier to catch out the sports and solid color eyes every couple of years.

Love streakers. They do tend to revert. I have an Ice Age Trail from Jim? in Iowa that is less streaked each year. Can't find another. Also looking for a Confused Angel and have written Mason Hollow but haven't heard back.
