I would definitely clean up the island lines.

any chance you can create a corner on your back wall too? if it's just dead space, I would look into it.

Here are some examples of islands that work with corner kitchrens.

If you're thinking about lopping it off where the blue tape is, on the right it's fine, line up with the lower part. On the left, it might look odd. If the countertop fabricators can do it, I might go for an oval. It will remove the angles and look really sophisticated.

Are you keeping the tile floor? If the new island cabinets will have a different footprint than the current island, you need to keep your flooring in mind. Matching the tile for any patches that might be needed could be tough.
