Thanks - 1st time user LOL - working with a custom cabinet maker, just looking to refine the final layout. That dreaded microwave.....ok I understand it IS a kitchen appliance. Trying to make the overall plan functional and esthetically pleasing for our everyday living. I appreciate the offer!

Hesitant as we've had an OTR microwave for over 30 years. I guess reaching below instead of above would be an adjustment. Glad to hear that you like yours!

Ours is to the left of our fridge on a shelf.

Interesting how you did a small shelf under instead of bumping out the whole section. I’m looking for the narrowest depth unit I can find without going too small. We also thought of putting it to the left of the fridge in our layout but didn’t want to feel too cramped in that small space (which leads into the dining room). Thanks for sharing your pic!

I'd do a drawer microwave in the beverage center area. Also, on the front of the peninsula, face with cabinet fronts to mirror the cabinet on the left, finishing the look. And, I'd have the cabinet on the side of the fridge face into the kitchen, rather than face the entry to the dining room.

Yes we are definitely having panels on the peninsula to have a finished look. (This is just my rough online sketch) I agree it makes a much nice look.

DEFINITELY do a drawer microwave and a real hood over the range.

How wide are the uppers on each side of the range? I've had 12" uppers, and they are next to useless. If you can get those to 15", they will be much more useful.
