Is this marble or quartzite?

Installing this Namibia White Quartzite in a coastal home. Trying to decide honed or polished. After reading through many threads I am questioning if it is marble NOT quartzite. Not that it matters as I do like it. Just wondering if I should polish or hone for best wear.

Have you read the threads where they describe the easy tests you can do to the slabs or a sample piece? These tests will tell you what properties your slab has ... before you buy them.

Many of the "white" quartzites are hard like quartzite, but porous like marble. These slabs need to be sealed and then resealed as it wears off.

A lemon and a small glass tile sample will tell you what a particular slab is.

Read the horror stories regarding both quartzite and marble. Just because you can afford something doesn't mean that it is a good idea. But, it is of course your life. So do what you want. Just be sure to have open eyes knowing what you are getting into.

I have honed white marble (dolomite) countertops in my kitchen for two years and have had a great experience: no staining or etching. The installer sealed it but I have not resealed it. Wine and coffee drips left overnight easily wipe off. I tested the marble (dolomite) before purchasing it.
