Thank you Sheila! I am glad you like it also. Most of my roses are taking a break from blooming and are just surviving. My only strong bloomers during this time are Mel’s Heritage, Flamenco Rosita, Kendyl Marie and The Fairy. I need to up my watering.

Would this rose do well in 6b-7a NJ? Not that I have room, anyway.

Rifis I am under the impression it should work in zone 6b. Even tho we are supposed to be zone 7b we got to negative 2 last winter and stayed in the single digits for a full week. Mel’s Heritage had the usual dead canes in the spring but nothing different than other years. It needs almost all day sun here to do this well, it doesnt bloom profusely in half a day sun. I hope you can find a spot to try it.

I am trying him again now that I'm officially 6a and I've planted him in a virtual 6b/7a sunny side of my house. I'm giving him tons of TLC and telling it how wonderful he is. I plan to show him Daniela's fantastic pictures to convince him to be strong and grow.

I'll let you know next year if he survives. With the Renae influence in the breeding, he's mostly a 7a + rose. Rifls - you have room if you put in a trellis or pillar to grow on. Wouldn't he look lovely cascading over a pillar support? C'mon, we're nothing if not enablers.

He survives here just fine even during A couple of extremely cold snaps with -25 wind chill. However there was dive back. Nothing too severe and he recouped quickly. However,,, It did influence my decision to grow him up in 8' pole and on to swags. I went with awakening for that spot instead.
