Hi, thank you for you answer. Can I ask where you would put the cars? With the climate in Ireland we don't need a covered garage for cars, so that's something we never consider. We are close to the road (not a busy road), so I don't want high walls or it may feel like we are hemmed in. I would prefer to keep the parking to the front, so that when we are in our garden to the back we are not looking at cars.

You need to hire a proper landscape designer. This is not something that can be successfully accomplished online and with the very limited info provided. You need boots on the ground to get any kind of workable detail.

I suggest that you plant low shrubs or perennials along the front of your house and to border the driveway. The bed should probably be at least two feet wide so that it is full enough. Probably local people can tell you what is hardy (or even native) for your area, so I am no help there.

I am not looking for planting help. But how to relay the drive, and space for parking.

I do know that I can hire a designer, but I prefer to do it myself, and put the money into the features, but I am stuck looking at the same layout in every home nearby. So that's why I came to this forum, I was hoping for like minded people who would enjoy giving their opinions.

If you want that much parking, at least use something permeable (like permeable pavers or gravel - maybe with grass strips) so you can control the runoff. I do think that calling in a landscape designer is a great suggestion.

I lived in a city when I was young where many people had 3 cars and the way many worked it out was with a 1/2 circle driveway past the house wide enogh to aloow one can to pass the other . Not the prettiest look but doable . Some people did really nice landscaping in the cwnter to make it look better You have quite a lrge property it seems so there should be a solution I am surprsed to see what looks like asphalt I never see that in the UK only nice gravel drives I hate ashphalt it is IMO not attractive and for sure not good for the environment . A nice gravel driveway is a good choice to allow water to get into the ground and also do not harm the soil

Pavement never looks good and you have a lot of it. Grass through pavers looks much better and will work for spare parking.
