Live edge slab with a curve for dining?

I can get this 10' wood slab for $1500 for use as a outdoor dining table. I have a covered patio that I think it would work. Problem is that I can't imagine sitting at it with that curve on one side and since it is very heavy the seller doesn't want to assemble it with the legs for me to just try it. Do you think it would be odd to dine on the curved side? I think it might slightly isolate the sitter in the middle since the person left and right would be slightly turned away although I may be overthinking it.

How wide is that piece . The curve does not really bother me but the piece seems very narrow and once legs go there how much real seating space will you have ? I designed a live edge table ofr a cleant to seat 8 it also has a bit of a curver I designed the base to not intfere with legs and chairs but it is 48" wide at the widest spot and 84 " long .

I would not want to sit on the inner curve of that to eat. Big coffee table sure. Dining table, no.

I think the narrow spot in the curve is 42". There are a few more examples there but they would be $2500. You can see how the legs are attached.

I would not want it for a dining table. Seems like it would be awkward. And that gap is going to get filled with gunk if outdoors and be hard to clean.

I pulled the trigger on the table. The curve is 9" over 7 feet, I think it will be OK. They have these real rattan chairs for $100 a piece regularly $595 including 2 captains chairs. Probably a bad idea for outdoor covered patio? What do you think? Not sure how rattan over wood frame would be in humidity.

Any thoughts on rattan outside? I've read a couple things about using tung oil to protect them from moisture. Otherwise I could use a cloth slip cover for everyday use and remove them on certain occasions.

I have no clue about rattan outside. Sorry. I do like those chairs though.

But I LOVE LOVE LOVE that slab! I would do whatever I had to so that it would work.

@Debbi Washburn ThanksI bought it. It's the only slab with the bowtie joiners on a crack. I'm very excited about. Free delivery too, which is great because I'm sure the 4 inch thick slab has to be at least 500 pounds.

Those chairs are great but i worry about mildew and deterioration outside. Its a covered area but the morning dew is a year round issue. I'll probably keep looking for a long bench and 5 chairs that are less maintenance.

HomeGoods did a clearance on all their outdoor chairs. $24 a piece! The woven ones were $40. I got 2 of each color because I could make up my mind what color looked best with the slab as the captains chairs. Not the best quality but it buys me some time to find just the right chairs in the future.
