Salty dog is a great color. I like the two color wallpaper shown. Neither are able to reference anything already in the bathroom. Find a wallpaper that pulls both the tans and blues together.

I would replace the round mirror with one that runs horizontally the width of the vanity, maybe framed and a new light over the mirror. You’re definitely in need of more storage space- Ikea sells a number of shallow wall hung hung cabinets that would fit nicely over the toilet.

Hang that light fixture with the shades pointing down.

Also, consider matching the finish of the light fixture to the finish of the mirror frame.

We suggest waiting to do anything to this bathroom until you're able to do a full gut and remove the tile, replace flooring and update the countertop. Until that time, perhaps look at bathrooms you do like, to see what sort of update you'd want to do. Visual ideas are included below for more aid.

Nice blue you picked for the vanity and a wallpaper that has both the blue and the beige of the tile? I like the mirror you picked up.

You might consider updating the mirror and lighting and just waiting on updating the rest until you have the budget to do a full gut and remodel. Perhaps in the meantime, look at different bathrooms with different styles to figure out what might work best for you.

I agree with Amy. I would also aim for a larger mirror and keeping all the finishes the same, and definitely getting the towels away from the toilet.

The wall color (paint) is too drab. Repaint, using a slight off-white that matches the toilet and sink (but not too creamy). Put in a long horizontal mirror over the vanity as others have suggested and a new light over the mirror. Move the towel rack up and away from the toilet, or buy individual towel pegs and put them on that wall with appropriate spacing. I assume a tub and/or shower are opposite the toilet, so put the towels closer to where they will be needed. If you have a tub/shower combo, you can get a sliding glass door with a towel bar on the door. Put a towel peg on the wall to the right of the sink to hold a hand towel. The light switch is somewhat in the way but you really need a hand towel near the sink. A small cabinet over the toilet as others have mentioned would give additional storage space.
